Rudy Van Gelder recording

Play your way through Rudy Van Gelder's recordings at jazzleadsheets.com!

Rudy Van Gelder started recording at his family's home in Hackensack, New Jersey. His father, Leon, designed the house knowing that Rudy wanted to record music. By 1954, Rudy was the first call engineer for labels such as Blue Note, Prestige, and Savoy, and by 1959 he expanded his operations into the legendary Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, where he would record, mix, master, and cut thousands of records, including some of the greatest albums of all time.

Second Floor Music is proud to carry the legacy of great jazz music into the modern day with our digital download sheet music website, jazzleadsheets.com. We're especially excited to be celebrating our connection with recordings made by Rudy Van Gelder. Only at jazzleadsheets.com will you be able to find exclusive access to the charts from these Van Gelder sessions.
