"Early Art" was recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's legendary Hackensack Studio.

Transcribed Trumpet Solo: Don Sickler: "Art Farmer is truly one of the great ‘note’ players. What I mean by this is, he always comes up with perfect note choices as he develops his lines. As you can hear from our audio excerpt (the start of his second chorus trumpet), he really has his articulation chops together as he re-constructs the first four measures of the blues through his own type of I-VI-II-V progression.
