A haunting ballad with a voluptuous melody, Myles makes a stunning addition to any repertoire. Pierce develops a simple rhythmic theme into a lyrical sixteen bars. The key of the piece could be best described as lydian; although it centers around F major, B natural is a central note to the piece.
Bill wrote this composition for his oldest son Myles. The evocative, wistful tone of the ballad perfectly captures the feelings of a father for his young son.
This album, "Give And Take," contains compositions by several jazzleadsheets.com composers in addition to Pierce: pianist Donald Brown and trumpeter Bill Mobley (coming soon). We also have two titles from "One For Chuck," Bill's later album on Sunnyside.
Second Floor Music combo arrangements from this album are available for Bill Mobley compositions.

Solo Piano Arrangement: This intermediate-level piano arrangement by Pamela Baskin-Watson lays out Myles in one chorus. It is an artful, tasteful arrangement that doesn't stray too far from the melody, but adds just enough pianistic detail.
Also available, Pamela's own composition, The Love We Had Yesterday.
