All Because Of You – Rob Bargad
As delightful as an old-fashioned standard, but refreshingly contemporary. A perfect pick for vocalists looking to pep up a set full of ballads.

Carolyn Leonhart's recording of All Because Of You starts as a laid-back swing (2-feel) with all the charm of a standard and all the freshness of a modern composition. The heavily syncopated melody makes a great introduction for newer jazz singers—even if you sing this chart exactly as written, it won't sound stale in the slightest. That said, this composition is also a great choice for experienced singers, as evidenced by Carolyn Leonhart's expert phrasing on this recording. On the recording, the first melody chorus is preceded by an eight-measure solo bass intro which is derived from Rob's original full rhythm section intro (indicated on the lead sheet).
It also works well with a more aggressive 4-feel (walking bass) throughout as demonstrated in the out chorus of this recording out.
Lyric Description: Rob Bargad's exuberant lyric celebrates a new love that is so all-consuming that it distracts the singer with constant daydreams.
If another key would be better for you, send the key you'd like to Don and we'll post the transposition on the website for purchase. If you're not sure which key is best, send us your range and we'll work with you to figure out the best key.

Rob Bargad's career took off in the United States, both as a soloist and as a sideman. He was (and is) very adept at working with vocalists as he is a vocalist himself. He has released several recordings in Europe where his voice is featured. We hope to bring some of them to jazzleadsheets.com soon.
