Listen to the developing A section of the melody on the audio clip: Cecilia surprises with some afterbeat accompaniment answers to the melody. This nicely sets up the repeat of the A section in this AABA form. She keeps the rhythmic hits for the melody only, so the solo section chord progression is on the second page of each lead sheet.
Note that the lead sheets under each album cover are identical.

Named for pianist Mulgrew Miller's brother, this is Cecilia's first recording of Posie, and "Words Of Wisdom" was her first album as a leader. In 1995 she recorded Posie with horns, on her CD "Home."
The "Now & Then" CD, a remastering of "Words Of Wisdom" with new material recorded by Rudy Van Gelder, also contains a trio version of Pearl, which is also available on jazzleadsheets. Cecilia's big band arrangement of Pearl is also on her first big band CD, "Oh Boy!."
Cecilia has six small group CDs out and she's released two big band CDs. The band performs frequently in the New York area, playing an engaging mix of Cecilia's originals and a few standards for the vocalist.
This beautiful ballad, reminiscent of an elegant Ellingtonian dream, has also been recorded by Cecilia and vocalist Gail Allen, but it's only available in Japan. The lyric is by English vocalist Tina May, and is called Illusion.

This is a quintet version of Posie, done five years after the original trio recording. You can tell from the audio clip how it's great with horns.
Always moving forward, Cecilia left California to come to New York and got involved with Second Floor Music and Don Sickler in 2002. By 2006 she was recording new music at the Van Gelder Recording Studio in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. She made her first big band record, "Oh Boy!," there in 2010.
